Hearth crews are battling a big blaze that has engulfed a number of properties on Russell Island, in Brisbane’s south-east.
Hearth and Rescue Service crews are on scene after the fireplace broke out at a house on Todman Road about 6am, sending plumes of thick smoke billowing into the sky.
A Queensland Hearth and Emergency Companies spokesperson informed 9news.com.au that at the least one home is totally destroyed.
“The state of affairs as of seven.15am – is that three homes had been absolutely engulfed in fireplace with one home destroyed,” the spokesperson stated.
