JISR AL-SHUGHUR, Syria — An airstrike early Sunday over a busy vegetable market in northwestern Syria killed no less than 9 individuals, activists and native first responders mentioned.
Activists and Britain-based opposition conflict monitor the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights mentioned that Russia, a high ally of Syrian President Bashar Assad, launched the strike over the strategic opposition-held city of Jisr al-Shughur close to the Turkish border.
The strike comes a day after Moscow’s high mercenary group briefly revolted in opposition to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Opposition-held northwestern Syria’s civil protection group often known as the White Helmets mentioned over 30 individuals have been wounded, and anticipated the dying toll to extend.
“We’re listening to that the critically wounded have been dying after reaching the hospital,” Ahmad Yaziji of the White Helmets instructed The Related Press. “It was a focused assault in the principle vegetable market the place farmers from round northern Syria collect.”

Northwestern Syria is generally held by the militant group Hayat Tahrir al Sham, in addition to Turkish-backed forces.
