“A number of officers” have been shot Tuesday evening in Kansas Metropolis, Missouri, police there mentioned, in response to the CBS affiliate there, KCTV.
The gunfire led to a standoff on the scene, police added.
It occurred simply after 9:30 p.m.
Kansas Metropolis Mayor Quinton Lucas tweeted that three officers have been wounded. There was no phrase on their situation.
“We have been reminded an excessive amount of these days in Kansas Metropolis how harmful police work may be. I’m praying for a full restoration for our three officers injured this night and that everybody on responsibility will get house to their households safely,” he wrote.
KCTV reporter Betsy Webster tweeted that there was a “massive presence of officers” at an area hospital and that the emergency entrance was blocked by crime tape:
She added that the pinnacle of the native police union was there and that “The temper, as you’ll count on, is tense.”
