Police shot and killed a person allegedly armed with a gun on a rooftop in Lengthy Seashore on Saturday morning, in accordance with officers.
Lengthy Seashore law enforcement officials responded to the 1100 block of East seventeenth Avenue round 11:10 a.m. after receiving studies of an individual with a gun, Officer Paige White stated. Once they arrived, officers noticed a person on a roof with what they believed was a firearm in his hand, police stated.
Officers fired on the man after trying to de-escalate the state of affairs. He died on the scene, White stated. It was unclear what number of officers shot on the man or what number of instances he was hit.
In movies recorded by neighbors and broadcast by KTLA-TV Channel 5, the person is seen pacing on a roof, shouting and waving what appears like a gun. The video reveals police attempting to barter with the person and firing less-lethal beanbags at him.
Police haven’t stated whether or not the person fired at officers. The case stays below investigation.
