COLUMBIA COUTY,Ga. — The US Geological Survey reported that an earthquake occurred east of Atlanta Friday morning.

The two.5 magnitude earthquake struck close to Harlem, Georgia, in Columbia County round 6:09 a.m.

The earthquake had a depth of 6.8 kilometers, or roughly 4.2 miles.
