TOKYO — Japanese low-cost provider Zipair is altering the design on its tail from the letter “Z,” which resembles the image on Russian tanks.
Zipair President Shingo Nishida made the announcement this week at Narita Airport close to Tokyo. He acknowledged the resemblance and the confusion it would invite, noting the “invasion of Ukraine.”
For now the letter has been lined with a decal design. By the yr’s finish the airline will replace the livery on all of its plane.
The provider is a part of the Japan Airways, or JAL, group and was arrange in 2018. It operates 4 Boeing 787-8 plane, with fights connecting Narita with Bangkok, Seoul, Honolulu, Singapore and Los Angeles.
