Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews says he hopes to finish the state’s pandemic declaration in July.
The declaration, which grants the Well being Minister powers to implement COVID-19 restrictions, was prolonged earlier this month till July 12.
Mr Andrews, talking this morning on the launch of a venture to construct 100 new accessible trams, mentioned he “would hope” to finish the declaration on that date.
Victoria is due for a state election in November, which means any three-month extension would run into the marketing campaign.
Victoria yesterday joined NSW in easing the vast majority of its COVID-19 guidelines, together with the seven-day isolation rule for shut contacts.
