Two teenage boys have been taken to hospital and 4 college students have been arrested after fuel believed to be pepper spray was allegedly sprayed at a highschool in Perth.
Ellenbrook Secondary Faculty within the metropolis’s north-eastern suburbs was evacuated this afternoon and college students and academics have been handled on the grounds by ambulance officers.
The fuel is believed to have been deployed via the air vent of a yr 9 classroom about 1.20pm (3.20pm AEST), sending the varsity into lockdown.
Senior Sergeant John Browne stated police have been treating the incident as “important”.
“It does pose some danger to the broader faculty with recirculation of air,” he stated.
Two youngsters have been rushed to Midland Hospital whereas 4 youngsters and 7 academics have been handled on the scene by paramedics.
“I imagine there was some itchiness of the eyes and elevated coronary heart fee and a few problem respiration,” Browne stated.
Browne stated police have been in search of the canister and taking air samples on the faculty, whereas 4 college students have been being questioned.
