A piece of Interstate 95 in Philadelphia collapsed Sunday morning following a big tanker truck fireplace underneath the freeway, metropolis officers stated.
A photo shared by the city’s Office of Emergency Management confirmed a scorched part of the freeway caved in on the street under. Photographs on native information and social media confirmed black smoke billowing from the realm.
OEM director Dominick Mireles stated it might take weeks to restore the freeway, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
It is unclear if there have been any accidents.
Site visitors was stopped in each instructions close to the location of the collapse, and officers have been urging drivers to take alternate routes.
