ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) — A St. Paul man who pleaded responsible to leaving a threatening voicemail for a U.S. consultant in California was sentenced Tuesday to 2 years of supervised launch.
The U.S. Lawyer’s Workplace in Minnesota mentioned 32-year-old Jason Robert Burham Karimi pleaded responsible to at least one depend of interstate communication of a risk in September.
In January 2021, Karimi left a voicemail containing “graphic threats of violence” on the consultant’s workplace phone, the lawyer’s workplace mentioned.
U.S. Capitol police traced the decision to Karimi, which led the FBI to arrange a gathering with him close to his residence in St. Paul. Karimi admitted to leaving the voicemail, saying he’s a marijuana trade lobbyist, and he wished to inflict “political ache” on the lawmaker’s profession, in keeping with the lawyer’s workplace.
